Our recruitment practices consider candidates with diverse backgrounds and skills who represent the communities in which we operate. Our approach includes: (i) reviewing the inclusive practices of our recruitment vendors; (ii) working with hiring managers to identify the best complement of skills for their teams; (iii) building our presence on campuses and enhancing our student programs across the organization; and (iv) reviewing the feedback from our candidate and hiring manager satisfaction surveys which is a practice we initiated in 2023. Measuring Progress Where possible, we measure progress on our inclusive practices using both qualitative and quantitative indicators, including workforce demographic statistics and measures of belonging and inclusion gathered from our annual employee engagement surveys. Our annual engagement survey is also a critical way for TMX to learn about what is or isn’t working for employees, managers and teams, so we can take action to deliver higher levels of satisfaction across all regions and parts of the business, and ultimately build a higher performing culture. Our progress is regularly reviewed with the human resources committee of the Board. In our 2024 employee engagement survey: • 86% of employees responded to the engagement survey (an increase from 2023); • 78% of those that responded reported that they would recommend TMX as a great place to work which was slightly below our target and a decrease from 2023; • Our inclusion index (which is based on five questions regarding trusting the company to be fair, valuing diverse opinions, managers showing support for inclusion, feeling accepted, and being treated with dignity and respect) rose to 77%, which met our target and represents an increase over 2023.
