#TechisBack on TSX and TSXV

April 1, 2016

Canada's thriving technology and innovation sector—which includes technology, clean technology and life sciences companies—is enjoying a resurgence on Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and TSX Venture Exchange (TSXV).

Indeed, this country's leading public markets, TSX and TSXV are becoming a preferred destination for digital entrepreneurs. The Exchanges support the growth of technology and innovation companies at all stages of development, from micro-cap to mega-cap, as well as the investors who are interested in this thriving sector. Consider the numbers since the start of 2014:

  • There are over 420 companies in the technology and innovation sector on TSX and TSXV, and the total has been growing significantly.
  • Since the beginning of 2014, 75 new technology and innovation companies have gone public (more than any other industry sector other than ETFs), including 19 new international technology and innovation companies (more than in any other sector).
  • 14 technology and innovation companies have graduated from TSXV to TSX since the start of 2014 – the highest graduation rate across all sectors.

Some of the world's most exciting technology companies are being founded, built and funded in Canada, and TSX and TSXV will continue support a strong and vibrant Canadian technology and innovation sector.
