Friday, November 6, 2009 - Certified General Accountants of Ontario Opens the Market Representatives from The Certified General Accountants of Ontario (CGA Ontario) and Robert Fotheringham, Senior Vice President, Trading, TMX Group opened the market today. CGA Ontario is a self-governing body that grants the exclusive rights to the CGA designation, and controls the professional standards, conduct and discipline of its members in Ontario. The CGA designation will be granted to 956 newly accredited Certified General Accountants on November 7 at the official admission to membership ceremony. Wednesday, November 4, 2009 - Take Our Kids to Work Day Opens the Market Tom Kloet, CEO, TMX Group, joined Grade 9 students to open the market today as part of Take Our Kids to Work Day, the annual national program which supports career development by helping students connect school, the work world and their futures. Since 1994, the program has expanded across the country, and to date, more than 1.5 million students and 75,000 workplaces have participated. Tuesday, November 3, 2009 - Canada's Sports Hall of Fame Opens the Market Canada's Sports Hall of Fame along with Tom Kloet, CEO, TMX Group opened the market to celebrate the induction of seven more individuals at a gala dinner on November 3 at the Fairmont Royal York hotel. On hand to open the market was inductee Warren Moon, football quarterback legend and a member of five Grey Cup championship teams with the Edmonton Eskimos. The mission of Canada's Sports Hall of Fame is to inspire Canadian identity and national pride by telling the compelling stories of the outstanding achievements that make up Canada's sports history. Thursday, October 8, 2009 - The Carbon Disclosure Project Opens the Market The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) 2009-Canada 200 Climate Disclosure Leaders and representatives from CDP opened the market today to launch the 2009 CDP Canada 200 report. The report is prepared annually by The Conference Board of Canada based on questionnaire responses received from close to 100 of Canada's largest companies on behalf of 475 large institutional investors, with $55 trillion in assets. Thursday, August 20, 2009 - Jade Scognamillo Opens the Market Jade Scognamillo opened the market today to celebrate her historic swim across Lake Ontario. On August 1, 2009, 15-year-old Jade became the youngest person to swim across Lake Ontario, finishing her 52 km journey in 19 hours 59 minutes and 49 seconds. Her swim raised over $35,000 for the Hospital for Sick Children. Wednesday, August 5, 2009 - Options Now Trading on Claymore Natural Gas Commodity ETF Som Seif, President & CEO, Claymore Investments, Inc. opened the market today to celebrate the start of options trading on Claymore Natural Gas Commodity ETF (symbol GAS) on Montréal Exchange (MX). GAS options listed on July 29, 2009, are supported by three market makers: Timber Hill LLC, Wolverine Trading LLC and TD Securities. The underlying ETF has been designed to track the performance of the benchmark NGX Canadian Natural Gas Index. The ETF provides non-leveraged exposure to the Alberta natural gas market, by investing in physical natural gas forward contracts. Montréal Exchange currently has 24 options on ETFs. Earlier this year, the Exchange implemented a joint cross-asset class Exchange Traded Fund market maker rebate program.
