Advisory Committees
TSX Venture Exchange recognizes that in order to provide for a reasonably fulsome debate on all policy issues, the consultation process must encompass regional diversity and opinions. In response, TSX Venture gathers policy input from our interested constituents through a network of regional advisory committees.
Each region of Canada has appointed a local advisory committee that is comprised of local representatives of members, issuers, legal counsel and securities commissions. They meet quarterly to discuss and form positions on national and regional policy issues.
The local advisory committees feed into the national committee, which in turn provides TSX Venture Exchange with policy proposals and recommendations. The National Advisory Committee is comprised of knowledgeable individuals representing various industry groups and regions, and the chairs of the local advisory committees.
TSX Venture Exchange is not bound by the recommendations of the National Advisory Committee; however, the proposals are carefully considered and carry significant weight in the process of reaching any policy decision.
